Graduated in 2000 in Veterinary Medicine by the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), she completed her master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (2003) and PhD in Animal Science (2008) at the same institution. She is currently an Associate Professor 3 of the Department of General Biology at the Federal University of Viçosa (DBG/UFV), teaching classes to undergraduate (Histology and Embryology) and graduate students (BIO 626: Histophysiology of the female reproductive system; BIO 628: Spermatozoon: from formation to apoptosis). She is an advisor in the Graduate Programs in Cellular and Structural Biology (DBG/UFV) and Veterinary Medicine (DVT/UFV). She works with the research lines Experimental Toxicology, Reproductive Toxicology and Histophysiology of Male Reproductive Organs, with emphasis on post-testicular events. These lines include studies of morphophysiology, gene and protein expression in the epididymis of laboratory and production animals, as well as in vivo sperm and fertility analyses. Prospecting and toxicology of natural or synthetic molecules in experimental models, such as diabetes and cancer, are also developed.
