Graduated in Veterinary Medicine by the Federal University of Viçosa – UFV (1985), Master’s degree (1998) and PhD (2002) in Agricultural Microbiology by UFV; and Postdoctoral Fellow (2008) by the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, NY, USA. She is a Full Professor at UFV, Department of Veterinary, Sector of Preventive Veterinary Medicine and Public Health, Research Productivity Fellow – CNPq and advisor professor of the Graduate Program in Veterinary Medicine – UFV. She works in the area of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, with emphasis on Veterinary Microbiology and Bacterial Diseases, working mainly with Mastitis (resistance to antimicrobials / Multidrug Efflux Systems; bioactive substances extracted from plants and transplantation of microbiota for treatment; study of mastitic milk by omics techniques and biomarkers); Paratuberculosis (co-infection; interaction with sperm cells, Crohn’s disease and microbiome) and One Health.
